Part L Regulations

Following changes to the Building Regulations which took effect from 1st April 2002 the replacement of windows and doors falls within the requirements of these regulations. In simple terms these regulations dictate that the householder must either apply for approval from Local Authority Building Control or use a contractor who is registered with a Competent Person Scheme that can allow contractors to Self Certify their work. A condition of these regulations is that the installing contractor must give or at least offer insurance cover to the householder against a breach, by the contractor, of the said Building Regulations.
