The Basics…
First of all, please keep the policy documents you’ve received in a safe place- you will need them if you ever need to make a claim.
Your installer will have provided you with a written guarantee in relation to the works you have had carried out which will detail exactly what they cover and for how long. You should also keep this document safe as you will need to provide this if you make a claim.
An insurance backed guarantee provides protection to you in the event that you encounter a problem with your installation, that would have been covered under the installing contractors written guarantee, and your installing contractor has ceased to trade. The policy provides you with the peace of mind that even if your original installer is no longer trading you have a backup insurance in place.
